The Rag Trade:
A Salvage Zine

London’s Secondhand Clothing History

The Rag Trade is a zine documenting the history of secondhand fashion in London, tracing its evolution from the city’s rag trade and street markets to post-war repair culture, charity shops, and contemporary upcycling practices. Branded under Salvage, the publication connects past and present attitudes toward clothing reuse, positioning the studio within a longer cultural tradition of repair, rework, and extending the life of garments.

Sold to workshop participants and customers, the zine becomes a part of the in-store experience, and supports the studio directly with proceeds put back into materials and machine upkeep.
